You’re in a crisis. Schedules have changed,
and your deadline is suddenly pushed way up. You call your local printer
only to learn that they are booked solid through the middle of next week.
What are your options? You can go with an inferior product from your corner
copy shop or beg the printer to try to squeeze in your project before your
deadline drops. Either way, you cross your fingers, and hope for the best.
Helpful Tips For Sending Us Your Files...
Alpha Printing can accept files in many different programs. The software programs we have are listed below:
For PC: Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Word Perfect and QuarkExpress.
For MAC: Microsoft Word, Excel, QuarkExpress, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Pagemaker and Acrobat. (Pagemaker files will be opened using InDesign)
When sending files for output please remember to send all fonts (outline/postscript/screen/TrueType) and graphics files (scans, pictures, placed images, etc.) used in the document. Graphics, logos or images picked up from web sites are not acceptable. Resolution of scans and graphics should be a minimum of 300 dpi. All color files should be converted to CMYK from RGB unless Pantone or spot colors are required.
If artwork goes all the way to the edge of the page, you will need to make sure the document includes at least 1/8 inch of the image outside the document size (Bleed) on all four sides.
If you are planning to send a PDF make sure to imbed all fonts ,include 1/8 inch bleeds, crop and register marks. All PDFs’ must be of high resolution (The option for print quality is in your menus when printing or exporting). If you send PDF files for your project, any changes that need to be made will have to be made in your original document and a new PDF created and sent to us.
Prior to uploading or emailing files, place the files in a folder then zip or stuff the folder. This will protect the files from corruption. PDF files will be okay without zipping or stuffing.
When using our FTP site to upload your files, please alert us to the fact that you have done so (phone call or email).
